Resumen La posible relacion entre la osteoporosis y la artrosis continua debatiendose en la actualidad. Durantedecadas se considero que ambas enfermedades eran mutuamente excluyentes debido a las caracteristi-cas antropometricas y la diferente masa osea que con frecuencia presentan los pacientes con osteoporo-sis y artrosis. Sin embargo, en los ultimos anos se ha senalado la posibilidad de que ambos procesos coe-xistan e incluso que guarden una relacion directa. En el presente articulo revisamos algunos aspectos dela relacion entre estas dos enfermedades siguiendo una perspectiva temporal. Summary The possible association between osteoporosis and osteoarthritis represents an ongoing matter of deba-te. It was considered, for decades, that both diseases were mutually exclusive due to the anthropometriccharacteristics and the difference in bone mass that patients with osteoporosis and osteoarthritis oftenpresent. However, in recent years, it was pointed out that both processes can coexist, and even that theymay have a direct relationship. In this paper we review some aspects of the association between bothdiseases from a temporal perspective.Key words:
