Objectif: Etudier l’influence du potassium dans la production de mais ( Zea mays L. var. Espoir) dans la Vallee du Niari en Republique du Congo en recherchant des traitements d’engrais susceptibles d’ameliorer le rendement de cette culture. Methodologie et resultats: L’etude a ete conduite au cours de la saison culturale 2013-2014 sur les deux (2) sites du Groupement pour l’etude et la Conservation de la Biodiversite pour le Developpement (Gecobide) a Loutete, sur la variete « Espoir ». Une variete de mais importee du Burkina Faso par le ministere de l’agriculture et de l’elevage du Congo, en vue de relancer la production de cette culture. Cinq (5) traitements d’engrais ont ete appliques. Il s’agit de: T0 (temoin absolu) ; T1= calcaire (1000 kg/ha) + fumier de poules (1500 kg/ha) + Uree (100 kg/ha) + NPK (150 kg/ha); T2 = calcidel (10 l/ha) + protaminal (10 l/ha) + huminal (20 l/ha); T3 = calcidel (10 l/ha) + protaminal (10 l/ha); et T4 = calcaire (1000 kg/ha) + fumier de poules (1500 kg/ha). L’essai a ete suivant un dispositif en bloc aleatoire complet avec 3 repetitions. Aucun traitement phytosanitaire n’a ete effectue pendant les trois mois de culture. Des analyses de sols de sites d’essais et de feuilles recoltees au stade floraison ont ete realisees au CIRADMontpellier en France. Les donnees recueillies ont fait l’objet d’analyse statistique a l’aide du logiciel Microsoft Software, 2007. Le test de Newman-Keuls a permis de faire le classement des moyennes grâce a une analyse de variance au seuil de 5%. L’analyse des composantes principales a ete realisee pour caracteriser l’influence du K sur les composantes de croissance vegetative et de rendement. L’etude a montre que les sols sont acides et deficients en K echangeable (0,14 a 0,30 me /100g). La teneur foliaire moyenne en K = 2,621 % etait bonne et traduisait le bon niveau en K qui devrait etre recherche dans les sols de la vallee du Niari en culture de mais. Les plus fortes correlations ont ete celles qui existent entre la teneur foliaire en K et les composantes de croissance vegetative : HPF(r = 0,57, p < 0,01), BT(r = 0,69, p < 0,01) et BR (r = 0,72, p < 0,01) et DPF (r = 0,45, p < 0,05) ainsi que de rendement PEC (r = 0,46, p < 0,05). Les differents traitements ont influence positivement et significativement (p < 0,05) les composantes vegetatives et de rendement de mais grain. L'application du traitement T1 a produit des valeurs maximales  pour tous les traits etudies, le rendement en mais grain particulierement de 5,76 t ha -1 , suivi des T2 et T4 avec des rendements respectifs en mais grain 4,95 et 4,77 t ha -1 . Conclusion et application des resultats: L’etude a permis de mettre en evidence l’influence de potassium dans l’accroissement des composantes vegetatives et de rendement de mais grain. L’etude a revele qu’en general les sols de la vallee du Niari sont acides et deficients en K echangeable. Les apports potassiques sont donc essentiels pour ameliorer le niveau en K echangeable de ces sols, et par consequent l’accroissement des composantes vegetatives et de rendement. Le traitement T1 se revele etre la fumure susceptible d’ameliorer significativement les composantes vegetatives et de rendement du mais grain par rapport aux autres traitements.Les traitements T1, T2 et T4 avec des potentiels eleves en K et qui ont eu les meilleurs rendements en mais grain, peuvent etre utilises et contribues a l’amelioration de la production de mais dans la vallee du Niari. Espoir) in the valley of Niari in the Republic of the Congo and identify treatments of fertilizer that can improve the performance of this culture. Methodology and Results: The study was conducted during the season crop 2013-2014 on two (2) sites of the group for the study and Conservation of biodiversity for development (Gecobide) at Loutete, on the variety "Espoir". " A variety of corn imported Burkina Faso by the Ministry of agriculture and livestock of the Congo to relaunch the production of this crop. Five (5) fertilizer treatments were applied. It's: T0 (absolute witness); T1 = (1000 k/ha) limestone + manure from hens (1500 kg/ha) + (100 k/ha) urea and NPK (150 kg/ha); T2 = calcidel (10 l/ha) + protaminal (10 l/ha) + huminal (20 l/ha); T3 (calcidel (10 l/ha) + protaminal (10 l/ha); and T4 (limestone (1000 kg/ha + hens (1500 kg/ha) manure.). The trial has been installed following a complete block random device with 3 replicates. No phytosanitary treatment were made during the three months of culture. Analyzes of the soil of the test sites and of the leaves harvested at the flowering stage were carried out at CIRAD-Montpellier (France). The data collected have been staistique analysis using Microsoft 2007 software. The Newman-Keuls test helped do the ranking of the medium through an analysis of variance to the 5% threshold. The principal components analysis was conducted to characterize the influence of the K on the vegetative growth and yield components. The study showed that soils are acidic and deficient in exchangeable potassium (0.14 to 0.30 me/100g). The average foliar K = 2,621% content was good and reflected the good level in exchangeable K which should be sought in the soils of the Valley of the Niari in corn. The strongest correlations were those between the foliar K content and components of vegetative growth: HPF(r = 0,57, p < 0,01), BT(r = 0,69, p < 0,05) et BR (r = 0,72, p < 0,05) and DPF (r = 0,45, p < 0,05) as well as those of the corn grain yield PEC (r = 0,46, p < 0,05). The various treatments have influenced positively and significantly (p < 0, 05) corn grain yield and vegetative components. The application of treatment T1 produced maximum values for all studied traits, corn grain 5.76 t ha -1 realizing performance-, followed T2 and T4 with respective yields in corn grain of 4.77 and 4.95 t ha -1 . Conclusion and application of results: The study to highlight the influence of the potassium in the increase of vegetative components and yield of corn grain. The study found that in general the Niari Valley soils are acidic and deficient exchangeable potassium. Potassium flows are therefore essential to increase the exchangeable K of these soils, and therefore the increase of vegetative components and performance. Treatment T1 has revealed being the manure to improve significantly both vegetative performance and of the corn grain by report other treatments. T1, T2, and T4 treatments with potential high K, who had the best corn grain yields can be used and contribute to the improvement of the production of the corn in the Niari Valley.
