<p>The first-person deixis, as an essential component of pragmatics, may indicate the social status, interpersonal relationship and other factors of the conversational parties, thus reflecting the implicit cultural in a particular society. Therefore, the different uses in first-person deixis of different languages may imply the cultural differences among different societies. In view of this, based on the theory of pragmatic empathy, this thesis attempts to explore the implied cultural differences reflected in the specific uses of the first-person deixis in English and Chinese.</p
