Twenty one chemicals were applied to the blast resistant variety, Saikai 122 heavily infected .with narrow brown spot and leaf scald. The application was made twice at the tillering stage aimed to control the diseases on the foliage. And another twice at the heading stage to control ear blight. In former case, Benlate wettable (1g/1 liter) showed an excellent effect on both diseases, deducing them by approximately 90% comparing with the check. Hinosan emulsion and DF-125 were next to it. The similar result was obtained in the case of ear blight.
