Cultural heritage with special reference to the Palmares Quilombo is discussed. The etymological origins of Heritage and its historicity are investigated. An analysis of the Palmares Quilombo is given, highlighting the cultural diversity that existed in the place and which may be investigated through archeological research. Este artigo aborda a quest&atilde;o do patrim&ocirc;nio cultural tomando como refer&ecirc;ncia o caso de Palmares.
