二次性副甲状腺機能亢進症に対する保存的治療の継続により, 全身性の腫瘤状石灰化が発現した透析歴118, 168, 154か月の3例を経験した. それぞれのintact-PTHは2,400, 370, 400pg/mLで, 2例ではさほど高値を示していなかったが, 副甲状腺摘出術+前腕自家移植 (PTx) を施行した. 3症例ともに, PTx後6か月から2年で腫瘤状石灰化はほぼ完全に消失した. 腫瘤状石灰化を示す二次性副甲状腺機能亢進症には早期の積極的な外科的PTxを施行すべきである.
