Cet article propose une methodologie pour etudier les paysages de montagne a partir d’archives cadastrales. Le territoire choisi est situe en Savoie et permet d’utiliser un document specifique et original : le cadastre sarde du xviiie siecle. Un autre document du xixe siecle sert de jalon et rend possible les comparaisons entre les differentes occupations du sol. De plus, les registres cadastraux nous donnent des indications sur les logiques d’organisations spatiales des societes agro-pastorales. Ainsi, cette etude s’interrogera sur le role des pratiques territoriales dans les changements paysagers.
