The synthesis of 2-substituted imidazo[1,2-a][1,5]benzodiazepines is accomplished from tetrahydro-1,5-benzodiazepin-2-ones and α-haloketones. The structure and stereochemistry of the ring system obtained were investigated by H and C NMR spectroscopy.
