黄耆桂枝五物湯は痺れや痛みに用いられる方剤であるが, 今回我々は同方を投与した29症例において, 有効例が18例で無効例が11例であった。有効群と無効群の自覚症状の違いを解析し, それらが処方決定の指標となると思われた。「寒がり」,「体全体が重い」はこれまでの報告にもみられた症候であり, 今回の検討でも強い傾向と特異性が見られた。さらに,「関節が痛む」,「皮膚が乾燥する」,「怒りっぽい」が無効群に比較して有効群に多く見られた。これらは今後, 黄耆桂枝五物湯を投与する上で特異性の高い使用目標となる可能性がある。
