The patent is one of the most important indicators by which research, development and technological innovation can be measured at the level of various institutions, including academic institutions. The aim of the research is to identify the productivity of Iraqi researchers at Diyala University for patents completed at the university since its founding in 1999 and until the month of July 6, 2020, including the most productive years and most productive researchers as well as the most productive scientific disciplines in them. The researcher used the analytical approach due to its suitability in preparing the research in terms of collecting and analyzing information. Barreto technique has been used as one of the measurements that shows the percentage of researchers ’productivity in the field of patents. The study found that the most productive scientific disciplines for patents are physical education and sports sciences with a rate of 26%, followed by engineering 17.87%, while the most productive researchers was for Mr. Muhannad Kamel Shaker as his productivity reached 12 patents and represented 16.4%.
