Salah satu bagian yang tidak terpisahkan dari semua sistem jalan perkotaan adalah simpang. Permasalahan pada simpang bersinyal disebabkan oleh banyak faktor, diantaranya adalah percampuran kendaraan ( mix traffic ), kegiatan sisi jalan yang menimbulkan hambatan samping ( side friction ), perilaku pengemudi ( driving behavior ) yang tidak disiplin, dan kecenderungan pengemudi kendaraan roda dua memasuki celah atau gap di antara kendaraan yang lain. Faktor–faktor tersebut akan mempengaruhi pola aliran lalu lintas. Salah satu simpang di Kota Semarang yang rawan akan kemacetan lalu lintas adalah Simpang Medoho. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk analisis kinerja simpang bersinyal dengan menggunakan model simulasi lalu lintas. Indikator kinerja yang diteliti meliputi level of service (LOS). Tools yang digunakan dalam simulasi lalu lintas adalah VISSIM. Dari hasil pemodelan diperoleh LOS untuk masing–masing lengan simpang adalah Jalan Gajah arah Masjid Agung Jawa Tengah yaitu LOS E, Jalan Gajah arah Lamper yaitu LOS E, Jalan Medoho Raya 1 yaitu LOS E dan Jalan Medoho Permai yaitu LOS B. Nilai tundaan rata–rata per lengan simpang maupun tundaan maksimal apabila dikumulatifkan dan dilakukan rata–rata, maka LOS secara keseluruhan pada Simpang Medoho berada pada LOS E. One integral part of all urban road systems is an intersection. Many factors cause problems at signalized intersections, including mixed traffic, roadside activities that cause side friction, driver behavior or driving behavior that is not disciplined, and the tendency of drivers of two-wheeled vehicles to enter the gap or gap between other vehicles. One of the intersections in Semarang City, which is prone to traffic jams, is the Medoho intersection. The purpose of this study is to analyze the performance of signalized intersections using a traffic simulation model. The performance indicators studied include level of service. The tools used in the traffic simulation are VISSIM. From the results modeling obtained the level of service or LOS for each intersection is Jalan Gajah in the direction of the Central Java Grand Mosque is LOS E, Jalan Gajah in the direction of Lamper is LOS E, Jalan Medoho Raya 1 is LOS E, and Permai Medoho Road is LOS B. Average delay value per intersection arm and maximum delay when accumulated and averaged. The overall LOS at the Medoho intersection is at LOS E.
