Existing detention-oriented correctional facilities are designed as security centres by placing more weight on the ease of control than the re-socialization of inmates, and are insufficient to reach the goal of remediation. The inmate returns to society after the sentence ends. However, due to economic and psychological problems caused by disconnection from society, it is causing a vicious cycle of social adaptation and joining crime again, which is becoming a social problem. To solve this problem, the government operates a social rehabilitation system and operates various programs. This can be seen as the movement of deterritorialisation from detention to social return. However, existing detention-oriented facilities have limitations in running various programs, and new forms of decolonized correctional facilities are required to educate and healthy society. Therefore, this study analyzes the characteristics of deterritorialization of correctional facilities through cases based on the concept of deterritorialisation.
