BioScholar components manage the different phases of the biocuration process. The digital library stores and organizes collections of citations and documents of interest, including the documents whose content will eventually be curated into the system. The accelerated biocuration system identifies documents corresponding to the topics of interest for the curation task. The KEfED editor provides an intuitive user interface for generating the knowledge structures to represent the knowledge to be curated into the system. These components are generic and can be applied to several domains. However, to unleash the power of BioScholar's knowledge representation, the above generic components should be complemented with domain-specific components that can interpret this data in domain terms.
