A microwave-nitric acid leaching test was performed to concentrate gold from invisible gold concentrate. Weight of the leach residue, removal ratio of As and Bi, and gold content were compared before and after the leaching tests. The weight decreased, while the removal ratio of As and Bi and gold content increased, with increasing nitric acid concentration and leaching time and decreasing solid-liquid ratio. Optimum conditions were confirmed as follows: microwave power = 3 kW, nitric acid concentration = 5 M, leaching time = 20 min, and solid-liquid ratio = 5%. Under the optimum conditions, the gold content increased from 88.30 g/t to 732.30 g/t, the weight loss ratio was 88.82%, and As and Bi were completely removed.
