Modified electrical resistivity survey was considered to investigate the state of the cavity and distribution of the backfill materials in a mine, and its numerical analysis was performed. The current flow was analyzed according to each modified array, and the state of the backfill material was predicted using the visualized 3-D equipotential distribution. The potential difference of each array showed an anomaly at the boundary between two different materials. Analysis of the equipotential distribution map made it possible to interpret the main current flow path, and the boundaries of the materials were identified by the density of equipotential lines. As a result, the backfill state in the abandoned mine could be interpreted through the analysis of the potential difference graph and the equipotential distribution map.
