The Population Council applies evidence from its decades of research on adolescent girls (into what does and does not work) to inform programming and policymaking. We seek to bridge the divide between research and programming by applying lessons learned to strengthen implementing partner capacity, leveraging our suite of evidence-informed tools. Our capacitystrengthening work often focuses on organizations that deliver programs using community-based girl groups (CBGGs) that meet in safe spaces. Implementers work with CBGGs to address risks faced by girls who are generally hard to reach through formal delivery channels such as schools and health services.
