Objective: To recognize some key points in implementing the systematization of nursing care in a health facility and (re) think their effectiveness empirically. Methods: We used direct observation of the behavior of the professionals involved in the legitimation of the nursing process in the period that includes November 2011 to March 2012 in the areas of Cardiology and Intensive Care Unit of a public hospital of medium complexity in Teresina-PI. Result: categories were identified and analyzed according to the need of the goals laid out in: systematization nursing care as a process of continuous education; change begins alone facilitator agent process. Conclusion: All renewal process has major implications, with the implementation of nursing care systematization could not be different. It was observed that both the ignorance and the lack of practice resulted in a breach of the use of mechanisms for carrying out activities essential good practice.
