This research article was carried out with the purpose of designing a proposal to improve business performance, thanks to the implementation of the PMBOK Guide 6th Edition methodology, in the project management of a contractor and general services company. The proposal was implemented during the execution of a project to manufacture metal-mechanic pressure tanks for ammonia for a cold system of a hydrobiological frozen company, said process was carried out by the company in question, during the months of July and September, applying the methodology proposal, according to the triple restriction of the projects, in the areas of scope, schedule, cost and quality management. In order to identify the performance achieved by a contractor and general services company, the dimensions of efficiency, efficacy and productivity were evaluated, in the first instance in a project with similar characteristics, to carry out a diagnosis and later carry out a contrast with the results of the proposal. Consequently, improvements were obtained in the dimensions of efficiency and productivity (utility / man-hours), with a 62% and 65% increase, compared to what was obtained in the previous project, proving how profitable the implementation of this proposal for the business performance of the mype studied. On the other hand, the efficacy dimension did not improve, since it evaluates the results over time, taking into account that the project was developed during the pandemic, this result is excellent.
