Organizational sustainability, in recent years, has been the focus of several companies in a wide range of fields. There is an increasing appreciation by customers, suppliers and the community in general for management practices focused on socio-environmental responsibility, where environmental and social aspects are as important to the company as the economic factor. Effective people management is the foundation for the success of any organization, and in sustainable businesses, people management policies and practices must be in line with the business strategy focused on business sustainability. In order to understand how people management policies and practices collaborate to achieving organizational sustainability in a bank branch in the city of Rio Bonito do Iguaçu – PR. The authors opted to use a descriptive qualitative research of an exploratory character. Through a case study in a bank branch in the city of Rio Bonito do Iguaçu-PR, the people management practices applied in the organization were observed. Despite having practices and policies that contribute towards a greater involvement of employees in the management focused on sustainability, there are still some gaps that need improvement, for example, related to the staff recruitment, selection and training subsystem used.
