Background: This paper depicts the resultsobtained from a community interventionactivity carried out at “Mariana GrajalesCoello” elementary School, in Manzanillomunicipality within the period of January2011 up to September 2012. The sampletaken were students between 8 and 9 yearsold. By means affective – participativepsychological techniques, which were usedto orient in terms of prevention and healthculture promotion, about the correct bucalhygiene, the elimination of dentobacterianplaques, as well as its incidence in gingivaldiseases, through out contact with parentsand children to achieve modification inlifestyles and habits in he topic. It wasconfirmed the accuracy of games as formationand prevention techniques, and theassessment of bucal hygiene levels. Thesample was of 85 students, previous consentof their parents. The data was collectedin forms design to that effect, and the resultsare shown in a double – entrance graphicstaking the percentage as point of analysis.The results underwent a deep analysis andit was possible to reduce the incidence ofgingival diseases, and the number of healedpatients was prolonged, also the level ofknowledge increased in the third phase. Thebucal hygiene habits avoid the presence ofgingival diseases.
