— Let F be a non-archimedean locally compact field of characteristic p ^ 0 and N an integer > 2. We prove in détail thé basic results of thé orbital intégral theory on GL{N^F). Most of them are aiready known but had never been written before for p > 0 : convergence, réduction formulas, germ expansion in a neighbourhood of a point in a closed orbit and linear independence of thé germs, characterization on thé set of regular absolutely semi-simple éléments, density of thé regular absolutely semi-simple orbital intégrais in thé space of invariant distributions. Thé treatment ofthe inséparable éléments, i.e. those whose minimal polynomial has at least one component inséparable on F, leads us to break down thé Dixmier strata of G in sub-strata and to produce a normalization J(f,x) (/ e C^°{G), x ç G) of thé orbital © Mémoires de la Société Mathématique de France 70, SMF 1997
