ABSTRACT Background and Aim: Different diseases can be the cause of low vision. In the case of low vision, visual acuity with conventional optical devices such as glasses and contact lenses is between” 20/70 to 20/200”. To improve the visual performance in these patients, low vision aids are prescribed.The types of prescribed low vision aids vary in different diseases. The purpose of this study is to determine the type and frequency of optical aids prescribed for low vision patients examined in optometry clinic of Rehabilitation faculty of shahid Beheshti University in 1387. Materials and Methods: In this retrospective cross-sectional study, 204 low vision patients went under investigation. In the present study variables including type and rate of refractive error, visual acuity with the best correction, type of diseases and type of prescribed optical low vision aids were investigated. Results: The frequency of prescribed distance  glasses in diabetic retinopathy was 97%, age related macular degeneration 86.2%, Stargarts 92%, retinitis pigmentosa 86.4% and albinism 88.2%, Also the frequency of prescribed microscope in diabetic retinopathy was 81.82% , age related macular degeneration 48.27%, Stargarts 40% , retinitis pigmentosa 35.3% , albinism 35.3% and the frequency of prescribed magnifier in diabetic retinopathy was18.18%, age related macular degeneration 24.12% , Stargarts 52%, retinitis pigmentosa18.18% and albinism 29.4%. Conclusion: In many low vision conditions, it is more suitable to prescribe distance glasses rather than telescope. In this study the distance glass with the frequency of 84.8% is seen more acceptable in comparison with the telescope with the frequency of 41.7%. Among near optical low vision aids, microscope with the frequency of 50.5% is more accepted by the patients compared to magnifier with the frequency of 26% and CCTV with the frequency of 0.50%. Key words: low vision, disease, telescopes, microscopes, magnifier مقدمه و  هدف بیماریهای مختلفی سبب کم بینایی می شوند. دراین بیماری ها حدت بینایی با وسایل اپتیکی معمولی مثل عینک و عدسی تماسی بین 70/20 تا 200/20 است. برای بهبود عملکرد بینایی این بیماران وسایل کمک بینایی تجویز می شود. نوع وسیله کمک بینایی تجویزی در بیماری های مختلف یکسان نیست. هدف از این مطالعه بررسی نوع و فراوانی وسیله کمک بینایی اپتیکی تجویز شده در بیماری های کم بینای معاینه شده در سال 1387 دردرمانگاه اپتومتری دانشکده علوم توانبخشی شهید بهشتی است. مواد و روش ها در اين مطالعه توصيفي- مقطعي و گذشته نگر، پرونده 204 بيمار کم بینا مورد مطالعه قرار گرفت . متغیرهای ميزان ونوع عيب انكساري، ميزان ديد با بهترين تصحيح اپتيكي، نوع بيماري ونوع وسيله كمك بينايي تجويز شده دراین بیماران مورد بررسي قرار گرفت. يافته ها در این مطالعه فراوانی تجویز عینک دید دور در رتینوپاتی دیابتی 97%، دژنراسیون ماکولای وابسته به سن 2/86%، اشتارگارت 92%، رتنییت پیگمنتوزا 4/86% و  آلبینیسم 2/88% ، فراوانی تجویز میکروسکوپ در رتینوپاتی دیابتی 82/81%، دژنراسیون ماکولای وابسته به سن 27/48%، اشتارگارت 40%، رتینیت پیگمنتوزا 23/22% و آلبینسیم 3/35 و فراوانی تجویز ذره بین در رتینوپاتی دیابتی 18/18%، دژنراسیون ماکولای وابسته به سن 12/24%، اشتارگارت 52%، رتینیت پیگمنتوزا 18/18% و آلبینسیم 4/29% است. بحث و نتيجه گيري دربسیاری از بیماری های  کم بینا تجویز عینک دید دور از تلسکوپ مناسب تر است . در این مطالعه عینک دید دور با فراوانی 8/84% نسبت به تلسکوپ با فراوانی 7/41% قابل پذیرش تراست.از وسایل کمک بینایی دید نزدیک نیزمیکروسکوپ با فراوانی 5/50% از ذره بین با فراوانی 26% و تلویزیون مداربسته با فراوانی 5/0% برای بسیاری از بیماران قابل قبول تر است . وا‍ژگان کلیدی کم بینایی، بیماری ها، تلسکوپ،  میکروسکوپ، ذره بین Richard LB.
