Objective The work aims to expand the space for discussion and reflect on the conciliation and mediation hearings in times of COVID-19. The problem of the study is to find a viable and effective solution in line with the wishes of the Code of Civil Procedure and new technologies. Methodology To this end, critical-reflective research was adopted as a methodology, which operates through bibliographic examination of works, scientific articles and legal texts, adopting the deductive method. Results As a result, it can be concluded that, in spite of this, in Brazil, the movement for the implementation of the ODR is gradual and requires a more concentrated performance of the Public Power to allow wide accessibility to the internet, online audiences are the best way out to materialize access to justice in the midst of social isolation, ensuring the delivery of a satisfactory, efficient and adequate judicial provision that achieves social justice. Contributions As research contributions, it is observed that the availability of online dispute resolution (ODR) platforms, for online mediations, certainly establishes a direct and efficient way to guarantee access to justice, bringing flexibility of participation, speed in the solution and cost reduction, thus avoiding the unnecessary displacement of those involved, which is essential in view of the social isolation caused by the pandemic.
