1. Hitherto observational materials of latitude variation have been analysed in many ways by a number of investigators. Here I wish to give a brief summary of the results of my analysis of the 19 years material (1900-1919) of the latitude variation observed at some International Stations. The work has been schemed out under the suggestion of Prof. Shin Hirayama and the analysis was carried out by the author with the 48-ordinates. The materials used are the deduced coordinates2) of the instantaneous pole and the observed latitude3) of the three International Stations, Mizusawa, Carloforte and Ukiah. 2. Analyses of the observed latitudes at the three stations. The values of •¢ƒÕ=ƒÕ-ƒÕo at the three stations have been treated in two series (series I and II) with different initial epochs, i. e. 1900.396 and 1900.198-the difference amounting to 1/2x19/48 years. Here coo stands for the adopted mean latitude at the station. The results from these two series are in good accordance, at least ‚†or the terms of large amplitude, as can be seen from Table I. In the table A,, and a,, stand for the amplitude and phase angle for each harmonic term whose ordinal number is n.
