The study aimed to compare the public expenditure on investment by the Federal Government and the Federal District in the Federal District region with the evolution and composition of jobs in the period 1995 to 2010, which comprised the two governments of President Fernando Henrique Cardoso and the two government of President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva. As we seek to frame basis in Keynesian Theory, which highlights the need for government intervention through fiscal policy, to correct any distortion of the market, the Theory of Public Finance that deals with the stabilizing, allocative and distributive functions of Government, and Phillips curve, which shows an inverse relationship between inflation and unemployment. The data used are from official research, budget and financial system and employment system. The results show a strong correlation to the federal district between public investment and employment levels.
