Advancement in HIV care has transformed the disease from an acute potentially fatal to a chronic infection resulting in increased survival of vertically infected adolescents living with HIV infection (1). Adolescents account for 4% of people living with HIV infection worldwide. Overall, 18 million adolescents, aged 10 to 19 years are HIV positive. Of the population of adolescents with HIV infection, 85% live in sub-Saharan Africa. In Nigeria, 240,000 adolescents are living with HIV and sadly, Nigeria is the only country with increase mortality rate in HIV-infected adolescents (2-4). Adolescents with HIV-infection are a vulnerable group of persons. They are faced with many challenges like poor drug compliance with increase mortality.
