The research proposal is to reflect how the new historical novel Vigília do Almirante from Augusto Roa Bastos fictional narrative works from a new perspective, which relativizes empirical reality and questions the official history. And how, through this (re) reading of historical facts, weaves itself at the same pace, a new identity for the Latin American man. For this, we focused on the critical studies of Silviano Santiago, Haroldo de Campos and Eduardo Coutinho that address the relationships between cultures from the perspective of difference, assimilation and dialogical movement.
