Received: 5 March 2020 Accepted: 10 May 2020 This paper presents the modeling and control of Air Breathing Fuel Cell (ABFC) and solar PV based power system for feeding the voltage regulator module of a laptop computer. The MATLAB modeling comprises of power sources as well as power conditioning units (PCUs). The different power sources under consideration are ABFC stack and solar PV module feeding the PCUs. The quadratic buck converter (QBC) and boost converter combination are used as a power conditioning unit (PCU). The average current mode control (ACMC) based QBC enables good steady state and dynamic voltage regulations. The perturb and observe (P&O) algorithm is used for maximum power tracking of solar PV panel. The efficiency analysis of ABFC power system and PV module power system are represented.
