espanolSe describe la aportacion de medicos rurales a la divulgacion de la geologia asturiana. Evidentemente, aunque el grado de conocimiento geologico de sus autores no era el adecuado para hacer grandes aportaciones, colaboraron eficientemente, con la ayuda de la incipiente bibliografia disponible en aquella epoca, a popularizar esta rama cientifica. En este articulo se analizan brevemente los capitulos dedicados a la geologia de las 19 Topografias Medicas escritas sobre concejos de Asturias que fueron galardonadas con el Premio Garcia Roel. Quedan sin valorar 24 manuscritos no publicados, en su mayoria anonimos, que se conservan en las Reales Academias Nacionales de Medicina de Madrid y Barcelona. EnglishThis article describes the contribution of rural doctors to the spread of knowledge on Asturian geology. Although the degree of geological competence of the authors was, obviously, not sufficiently developed to make major contributions, with the help of the available literature they collaborated to popularizing this branch of science. This paper contains brief analyses of the chapters devoted to geology in 19 Medical Topographies on Asturian municipalities that were awarded the Garcia Roel Prize. There are 24 other unpublished manuscripts, mostly anonymous, that remain for future address in the archives of the Royal National Academies for Medicine of Madrid and Barcelona.
