This research begins with the problem of low ability to write free poetry in grade V SDN 001 Salo under Minimum Passing Criterion (KKM) that is 70. Out of 30 students only 13 students reaching KKM that is about 43.33%. The aim of the study is to improve the ability to write free poetry by using imaginative suggestion method. This research is a classroom action research (PTK) conducted in two cycles. This research was conducted in grade V students SDN 001 Salo 2016/2017 with a total of 30 students. The ability to write free poetry of the students have increased from cycle I to cycle II. The ability to write free poetry of the students before the action that achieved KKM only 13 students with the classical average of 43,33%. Then in the first cycle students who reach the KKM only 21 students with a classical average of 70%. In cycle II 26 students reached KKM with a classical average of 86.66%. Keywords: Write free poems, method of imaginative suggestion Abstrak: Pembelajaran Menulis Puisi Bebas Dengan Menggunakan Metode Sugesti Imajinatif  Pada Kelas V SDN 001 Salo. Penelitian ini berawal dari permasalahan rendahnya kemampuan menulis puisi bebas pada siswa kelas V SDN 001 Salo di bawah Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) yaitu 70. Dari 30 siswa hanya 13 siswa yang mencapai KKM yaitu sekitar 43,33%. Tujuan penelitian untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis puisi bebas dengan menggunakan metode sugesti imajinatif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di siswa kelas V SDN 001 Salo 2016/2017 dengan jumlah siswa 30 orang. Kemampuan menulis puisi bebas pada siswa  mengalami peningkatan dari siklus I ke siklus II. Kemampuan menulis puisi bebas pada siswa sebelum tindakan yang mencapai KKM hanya 13 siswa dengan rata-rata klasikal sebesar 43,33%. Kemudian pada siklus I siswa yang mencapai KKM hanya 21 siswa dengan rata-rata klasikal sebesar 70%. Siklus II siswa yang mencapai KKM 26 siswa dengan rata-rata klasikal sebesar 86,66% Kata kunci: Menulis puisi bebas, metode sugesti imajinatif
