Aqueous size-exclusion chromatography (SEC) equippe d with refractive index (RI) and multiangle laser light scattering (MALLS) detectors were appli ed to evaluation of charged molecules content in a series of polysaccharide derivatives with different averag e molar mass (MM) values. It was shown that a minor amount of residual charged groups in the polysaccha ride chains caused a polyelectrolyte expansion effe ct and neutral fractions of birch xylans, larch arabinogal actans (AG) and galactoglucomannans (GGM) were sepa rated from neutral molecules in various concentrati ons of the injected samples.
