espanolEste articulo pretende ejemplificar los rendimientos metalingu.sticos, metadiscursivos y metacomunicativos del lenguaje cotidiano, mediante una descripcion gramatical de algunos juicios de verdad en espanol. Con ese proposito, se realiza un estudio comparativo de algunas expresiones cotidianas del tipo “La verdad es que p”, “Es verdad que p”, o bien “Esto/Eso es verdad”; especificamente, se analizan los tipos de clausula relacional, los movimientos retoricos, el contenido de los juicios, la realizacion gramatical del termino verdad y el ambito de la posible negacion. Al poner de manifiesto que el lenguaje natural dispone de recursos semioticos u opciones de significacion para volverse reflexivamente sobre si mismo, este trabajo cuestiona la pretension de disponer de metalenguajes formalizados de orden superior. EnglishThis paper seeks to exemplify the metalinguistic, metadiscursive and metacommunicative performances of everyday language through a grammatical description of some propositions about truth in Spanish. To that end, we carry out a comparative study of some everyday expressions like “The truth is that p”, “It is true that p”, or “This/That is true”; more specifically, we analyze the types of relational clause, the rhetorical movements, the content of the propositions, the grammatical realization of the term truth,and the scope of possible denial. By showing that natural language has semiotic resources or options of meaning to reflect about itself, this paper questions the desire to have formalized higher-order metalanguages. portuguesEste artigo visa exemplificar os rendimentos metalinguisticos, metadiscursivos e metacomunicativos da linguagem cotidiana por meio de uma descricao gramatical de alguns julgamentos de verdade em espanhol. Com esse proposito, realiza-se um estudo comparativo de algumas expressoes cotidianas do tipo “a verdade e p”,”e verdade que p”, ou bem, “isto/isso e verdade”; especificamente, analisam-se os tipos de clausula relacional, os movimentos retoricos, o conteudo dos julgamentos, a realizacao gramatical do termo verdade e o âmbito da possivel negacao. Ao manifestar que a linguagem natural dispoe de recursos semioticos ou opcoes de significacao para refletir sobre si mesma, este trabalho questiona a pretensao de dispor de metalinguagens formalizadas de ordem superior.
