El presente estudio tuvo como proposito identificar, a traves de la opinion de los docentes de una universidad mexicana, cuales son los factores que en los ambitos personal, profesional, organizacional y tecnologico afectan la implementacion de la modalidad de educacion a distancia en el Programa de Formacion de Ingenieria en Ciencia y Tecnologia de Alimentos a partir del modelo del proceso decisioninnovacion de Rogers (2003), que describe los atributos de la teoria de la innovacion y el modelo de agrupacion de las barreras para la implementacion de la educacion a distancia de Berge, Muilenburg y Hanegham (2002); y Muilenburg y Berge (2001). En los ambitos personal, profesional, organizacional y el tecnologico, los resultados evidenciaron los factores que representan una barrera para la implementacion de la educacion a distancia. En cuanto a los atributos de la teoria de la innovacion, se demuestra que son elementos importantes a tomar en cuenta en la implementacion de la educacion a distancia. Abstract This study aimed to identify, from the view of a Mexican university teachers, the factors of personal, professional, organizational, technological, affecting the implementation of distance education mode in the Training Program Engineering in Food Science and Technology, on the model of decision-innovation Rogers (2003) process that describes the attributes of innovation theory and model of grouping of the barriers to the implementation of distance education Berge, Muilenburg and Hanegham (2002); and Muilenburg and Berge (2001). The results showed that the factors of personal, professional, organizational and technology, they do represent a barrier to the implementation of distance education. As for the attributes of innovation theory, the results showed that are factors to be taken into account in the implementation of distance education.
