Islamic tradition written literature has continuity in itself in many aspects. One of these continuities is to show sensitivity/deliberation while naming the books. It is seen that many authors do not choose the names of their books randomly; on the contrary, they pay attention to two issues: wording and meaning. While seci corresponds to wording, telmih corresponds to meaning. In the names of the books, seci is divided into two categories: Seci in single names and seci in successive names. On the other hand; it is seen that the reason of naming that book in that way (tesmiye) is alluded in the preambles of some books. Thus, these parts are called as “sebeb-i tesmiye” as inspired from “sebeb-i telif”.
