e objective of this research is to know the level of effectiveness of the internationalization strategies of the research units of the UNED, based on a qualitative analysis of discourse through an instrument consisting of open questions applied to three key informants: informant 1 of URI, informant 2 of the UGPI and informant 3 of the UE-PROIFED. e instrument was applied in 2020. e interviews were systematized in the NVIVO 12 Plus soware, subsequently, the co-occurrences and the frequencies of textual citation were analyzed. e results are focused on the strategies, conditions, and advantages of the internationalization of the UE-PROIFED identified by the key informants. For PROIFED there is no evidence that there is a specific incidence derived from any other internationalization strategy, apart from the generation of research networks, due to the lack of indicators that allow measuring such incidence, as well as specific conditions for internationalization associated with culture organizational in the UNED. It is recommended to improve the system and the management of internationalization indicators for the research units, as well as to carry out similar studies that consider other executing units within the institution for greater comparative analysis.
