The geometry around the penta-coordinated silicon atoms in the two crystallographically independent molecules in tetramethylammonium-bis(tetramethylethylenedioxy)fluorosilane dichloromethane solvate is distorted from the trigonal bipyramid towards the square pyramid by 69.1 % and 52.3%, resp. [N(CH 3 ) 4 ] + [FSi(OC(CH 3 ) 2 C(CH 3 ) 2 O) 2 ]-. CH 2 Cl 2  crystal­lizes in the monoclinic space group P2 1 /n, Z = 8 with a= 20.926(6), 6= 15.117(1), c = 17.008(4) Å, β = 114.88(2)°. The structure was refined to R = 0.084 using 2203 independent reflections.
