The  31 P NMR spectra of PCl 3 =N[PCl 2  = N] n PCl 2 =S (n = O-2) undergo significant changes in ν/2 and  4 J PP  when the temperature is lowered. The effects are discussed in terms of T 1  relaxation effects which may re­flect the mobility of phosphorus in compounds 1-3.
