1,1,1-Tris(dichlorarsinomethyl)ethane, CH 3 C(CH 2 AsCl 2 ) 3  (5) can be obtained in the reaction of CH 3 C(CH 2 AsNC 6 H 4 CH 3 ) 3  (4) with gaseous HCl. The heteroadamantane CH 3 C(CH 2 AsO) 3  (6) reacts with AsCl 3  or PCl 3  yielding also 5. CH 3 C(CH 2 AsO) 3 , CH 3 C(CH 2 AsS) 3  and CH 3 C(CH 2 AsI 2 ) 3  are oxidized with H 2 O 2  to give CH 3 C[CH 2 As(O)(OH) 2 ] 3  (7) and CH 3 C[CH 2 As(O)(OH) 2 ] 3 ·H 2 O (7 a). CH 3 C(CH 2 AsI 2 ) 3  and C(CH 2 AsI 2 ) 4  can be reduced with LiAlH 4  to give CH 3 C(CH 2 AsH 2 ) 3  (9) and C(CH 2 AsH 2 ) 4  (12). Oxidation of 9 and 12 leads to the cyclotriarsane compounds CH 3 C(CH 2 As) 3  (10) and H 2 AsCH 2 C(CH 2 As) 3  (13).
