In this study, an intercalation process was used for the synthesis of a photocatalyst that works in visible light. Amine molecules were intercalated in layered material H 2 Ti 4 O 9  by means of an intercalation reaction in liquid phase. After the intercalation reaction, the intercalated materials were heated in atmosphere for N doping. After the heat treatment, the crystal structure changed the layered structure into an anatase structure. The sample after heat treatment at 500 degrees C absorbed visible light. The photocatalytic performance of the sample after heat treatment at 500 degrees C indicated that the method used in this study is effective for the synthesis of a photocatalyst that works in visible light.
