This study is a phenomenological qualitative study. The aim of the study was to investigate the factors to determine treatment compliance in hemodialysis patients, the importance of these factors, and relationship of factors. The study population consisted of 10 patients undergoing hemodialysis at the Bolu Private Nefro Dialysis Center. Appropriate authorizations and consent to perform the study were obtained from the facility where the study was performed, the ethical committee and the participating patients. In-depth individual interviews by the investigator with the help of a semi-structured interview form were conducted to collect the information between August 1 and August 24, 2011. The recorded data were evaluated by inductive content analysis. Content analysis allowed the identification of 26 codes for factors influencing treatment compliance. These codes were then categorized in seven broader categories: disease and health perception, effect on professional and social life, coping, fear, expectations, diet and fluid restriction, education and information. These categories were assessed according to their particular significance and reconciled under the overarching theme of factors determining compliance. The patients' age was 48.1 + 14.45 years, the duration of previous hemodialysis treatment 6.35 + 3.75 years and that of previous treatment for hypertension 5.2 + 3.33 years. The duration of previous treatment for patients who expressed that the chronic character of the disease did affect their perception of disease and health was 6-10 years. Patients aged over 40 had greater physical fatigue post dialysis; eight of the patients experienced or had experienced problems related to their recommended diet. Seven patients experienced physical restrictions due to their treatment; such restrictions were affecting negatively their occupational and social life. Ozet Arastirma, hipertansif hemodiyaliz hastalarinin tedaviye uyumlarini etkileyen faktorleri ve aralarindaki iliskiyi incelemek amaciyla fenomolojik tipte nitel olarak gerceklestirildi.  Arastirma kapsamina, Ozel Nefro Bolu Diyaliz Merkezi'nde hemodiyaliz tedavisi goren 10 hasta alindi. Arastirmanin uygulanabilmesi icin, arastirmanin gerceklestirilecegi kurumdan, etik kuruldan ve hastalardan yazili izin alindi. Veriler, arastirmaci tarafindan yari yapilandirilmis gorusme formu kullanilarak, derinlemesine bireysel gorusme yontemi ile 01-24 Agustos 2011 tarihleri arasinda toplandi. Kaydedilen verilerin cozumlenmesi, tumevarimci icerik analizi ile yapildi. Icerik analizi ile tedavi uyumunu etkiledigi belirlenen 26 kod belirlendi. Kodlar kategorize edilerek;  saglik ve hastalik algisi, is ve sosyal yasama etki, basetme, korku, beklenti, diyet ve sivi kisitlamasi, egitim ve bilgi edinme olmak uzere 7 kategori olusturuldu. Kategoriler tasidiklari anlama gore incelenerek,  uyumu etkileyen faktorler temasi altinda birlestirildi. Hastalarin yas ortalamasinin 48,10 + 14,45 yil, hemodiyaliz tedavi suresinin 6,35 + 3,75 yil, hipertansiyon tedavi suresinin 5,2 + 3,33 yil oldugu belirlendi. Hastaligin uzun sureli olmasinin saglik ve hastalik algisini etkiledigini belirten hastalarin tedavi suresinin 6-10 yil arasinda oldugu saptandi.  40 yas uzerinde olan hastalarin diyaliz sonrasi bedensel yorgunluk sikayetinin daha fazla oldugu; hastalardan 8’inin onerilen diyete uyumla ilgili sorun yasadigi belirlendi. Hastalardan 7’sinin tedavi nedeniyle fiziksel sinirlilik yasadigi, bu sinirliliklarin is ve sosyal yasami, aile icindeki rolleri olumsuz olarak etkiledigi bulundu.
