The binary representation of m-valued logic is considered and the number of unary functors available by virtue of this representation is found for certain values of m. The use of these unary functors in finding universal decision elements is investigated, two 4-place functors of 5-valued logic with the required properties are found, and the binary representation of one of them is given.
