Roads are the ground transport infrastructure which includes all parts of the road, including complementary buildings and equipment intended for traffic. Padang city as the capital of West Sumatra province requires road transport system to meet the needs of service to the needs of the community in various fields. However, after conducting surveys a nd interviews with the Public Works Department City of Padang, most roads in the city of Padang were da maged. One of the main causes of damage to the road is a puddle of water that had flooded the road. Dur ing this unprecedented performance evaluation syste m that delivers good performance standards for roads drainage in Padang City, Indonesia. The absence of performance standards has resulted roads drainage p erformance in Padang for the worse. As a result, roads drainage does not function well in a puddle o f water flow and if it is allowed then the road wil l be damaged and cause greater harm in the future. The design of the performance evaluation system is done by using Key Performance Indicators (KPI) are adopted from other countries. KPI is tailored to th e conditions of the roads drainage in the city of P adang. KPI adjustments will be done through surveys and in epth interviews to consider the opinions of exper ts in the field of roads drainage. KPIs will be adjust ed weighted by AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) t o determine the importance of KPI. Giving weights thr ough pair wise comparisons by experts who have the knowledge and understanding of the model designed. Further assessment was conducted to evaluate the performance of the roads drainage. The results of the performance evaluation are a roa ds drainage performance of Padang with the performance level 3.455 out of 10. This performance lev l is at the level of bad. Poor performa nce is caused by many things such as the physical condi ti of the damaged drainage, lack of public awareness, the slow response of the government in d ealing with drainage and so forth. Roads drainage actual performance of Padang in particular seen fro m the performance level of each KPI, the KPI frequency of maintenance (poor achievement levels), KPI maintenance costs (poor achievement levels), KPI type drainage (poor achievement levels), KPI dr ainage (poor achievement levels), operating KPI drainage (poor achievement levels), KPI level of th e government's response to the problems of drainage (medium level of achievement), KPI awareness (poor achievement levels), KPI status of waste (poor achievement levels), and regional sustainability KP I drainage flow (moderate level of achievement). Th is research provides useful recommendations for improv ing the performance of the roads drainage Padang.
