With pump-probe separated closed aperture Z-scan technique, nonlinear refraction can be detected and taken into account with transmittance signal of probe beam. Because the transmittance change induced by nanosecond pump pulse is temporal, temporal profile of probe pulse also changes with the thermal lens effect rising. In this study, a new concept for pulse shaping of nanosecond laser with thermal lens effect is discussed in terms of nonlinear optics. The rising of thermal lens effect in nanosecond regime is demonstrated by time-resolved measurement and theoretical model. Theoretical model that accounts for unsteady heat conduction and generation of acoustic wave in liquid sample shows good agreement with experimental results. As pump beam waist gets narrow, rising time of thermal lens effect becomes faster. It means drastic temporal change of transmittance is obtainable and controllable. Using this knowledge, temporal pulse-shaping of nanosecond laser pulse is tried in terms of pulse compression. It is shown that 7 ns pulse can be compressed by 30.0% in the present configuration theoretically. Also, experimental results show 32.2 ns pulse can be compressed by 21.7%. 1. 緒 言 液体の非線形光学現象の計測には Z-scan が広く用いられている.開口 Z-scan は非線形吸収のみが観測される (Yang, et al., 2007).これに比べ閉口 Z-scanの場合は拡がった検出光の透過を制限できるため,非線形屈折の観測 も可能となる.特に励起光と検出光を分ける閉口 Z-scanの場合,検出光を液体に吸収させないことにより非線形 吸収の影響を排除し非線形屈折のみが観測可能となる.また,励起光と検出光のモード不整合ができるため,単 一レーザ Z-scanやモード整合 Z-scanに比べ信号を増幅することができる(Shen, et al., 1992).ナノ秒パルスレーザ により誘起された熱レンズ効果に伴う検出光の透過率変化はナノ秒オーダで急峻に立ち上がることが知られてい る(Brochard, et al., 1997).この屈折率変化の立ち上がりは,ナノ秒オーダで引き起こされる密度波モデルで説明で きる(Kovsh, et al., 1999)ことが知られており,このモデルを用いて Z-scan実験系におけるパルス検出光の透過率変 化を検証した例は報告されている(Yang, et al., 2007).しかし,この屈折率変化の非定常応答を Z-scan実験系にお いてパルス検出光の時間的なパルスシェイピングに応用した例は報告されていない.そこで著者らは,検出光と してもナノ秒パルスレーザを用いる場合,検出光パルスは熱レンズ効果により時間的なプロファイルが大きく変 化することに着目し,検出光のパルスシェイピングへの応用を図った. 熱レンズ効果の立ち上がりの応答は,主に励起光のパラメータやサンプルの形状により大きく変化する.その ため,まず連続光検出光を用いて,励起光のビーム径と投入エネルギー,サンプルの光軸方向長さをパラメータ とし,時間分解計測と前述の密度波モデルにより熱レンズ効果の立ち上がりの応答特性を調べる.その上で,ナ ノ秒パルスレーザ検出光の時間的プロファイルの変化を大きくするための条件を考える.最後に,励起光と検出 キム ビョンギ,井上 涼太,ドアン ホン ドク,伏信 一慶 Byunggi KIM, Ryota INOUE, Hong Duc DOAN and Kazuyoshi FUSHINOBU *1,*2,*3 Tokyo Institute of Technology, Dept. of Mechanical and Control Engineering 2-12-1 Ookayama, Meguro-ku, Tokyo 152-8552, Japan Received 2 January 2014 No.14-00005 [DOI: 10.1299/transjsme.2014tep0200] *1 学生員,東京工業大学(〒152-8552 東京都目黒区大岡山 2-12-1) *2 東京工業大学 *3 正員,東京工業大学 E-mail of corresponding author: kim.b.aa@m.titech.ac.jp
