The correlations between the characteristic values of the three dimensional boundary layer andthe characteristics of the cross-flow instability have studied by a linear stability analysis of theFalkner-Skan-Cooke boundary layers. Several parameters to predict the critical point of the crossflowinstability and prediction functions of the critical Reynolds number are suggested. It has beenfound that new parameter defined in this study is available to predict the critical point of the crossflowinstability. It is also shown that the shape factor obtained from the velocity profile of the crossflowvelocity component and the non-dimensional cross-flow velocity at the inflection point of thecross-flow velocity profile are available to predict the critical Reynolds number. The wave length ofthe critical disturbance in the cross-flow direction has been found to be about 34 times as long asthe 1% boundary layer thickness of the cross-flow velocity profile
