e have theoretically studied type-I and type-II confinement inInAs quantum dots with GaAsSb capping layer. The character ofthe confinement can be adjusted by the Sb content. We havefound that upon the transition from type-I to type-IIconfinement the hole wave functions change the topology from acompact shape to a two-segment shape, resulting in the complexchanges in the exciton fine structure splitting with zerovalues at particular compositions. Additionally, a high excitonradiative recombination probability is preserved even intype-II. This allows to design strongly luminescent quantumdots with naturally low fine structure splitting, which couldserve as sources of entangled photon pairs for quantumcommunication.
