concern, accounts for a large number of ambulatory care visits, may be an indicator of serious underlying disease, and often involves a protracted clinical course. Otolaryngologists play a critical role in these patients because of our interdisciplinary approach to the aerodigestive tract and mastery of many procedures used to evaluate and treat related conditions. Challenging cases with dynamic panel discussion and audience participation will be presented to demonstrate practical clinical applications. Modern challenges to applying coordinated care and best practice will also be addressed in the context of the case discussions with emerging concepts such as globalization. Controversial areas to be discussed include warning signs, decision protocolization, and the introduction of comparative effectiveness for value-based health care.
