The paper incorporates the faunistic profile of Pocharam lake (Medak and Nizamabad districts of Andhra Pradesh) recording 24 species under 12 families and 6 orders from a total of 755 specimens collected and of Wyra lake (Khammam distt. of A.P) reporting 22 species of fishes under 17 genera, 11 families and six orders from a total of 808 specimens. Because of similarities of both the lakes in geographical and physico-chemical characteristics, the ichthyofaunal diversity is found to be similar with a few exceptions.
