In this paper, we present a novel event-shaped cumulants (ESC) responseapproach, based on a multi-phase transport (AMPT) model simulations, to analyzep-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$= 5.02 TeV. We find that the Pearsoncoefficients between the subset cumulants of the final harmonics$v_{2}\{2k\}~(k=1,2,3,4)$ and the subset cumulants of initial eccentricity$\varepsilon_{2}\{2k\}$ in the ESC basis are significantly enhanced. ThesePearson coefficients are strongly-dependent on the charged multiplicity, theset number of events (SNE), and only weakly-dependent on the order of themulti-particle cumulants (two-particles, four-particles, and so on). Ourresults show that the ESC method can suppress the event-by-event fluctuations.
