The molecules of 2‐benzyl‐3‐(2‐bromophenyl)propiononitrile, C 16 H 14 BrN, are linked into chains by a single C—H⋯N hydrogen bond. The molecules of methyl 2‐benzyl‐2‐cyano‐3‐phenylpropionate, C 18 H 17 NO 2 , are linked into sheets by a combination of C—H⋯O and C—H⋯π(arene) hydrogen bonds.
