Molecules of N ‐(2‐nitrophenyl)succinimide, C 10 H 8 N 2 O 4 , are linked into sheets by a combination of C—H·O and C—H·π(arene) hydrogen bonds. Molecules of N ‐(3‐nitrophenyl)succinimide are linked into a three‐dimensional framework by a combination of a two‐centre C—H·O hydrogen bond and a three‐centre C—H·(O) 2 hydrogen bond. Molecules of N ‐(4‐nitrophenyl)succinimide which lie across twofold rotation axes in space group C 2/ c , participate in no direction‐specific intermolecular interactions.
